On April 1, 1981, in the small village of Kgoi Phasha, Steelpoort, South Africa, Winnie Mashaba was born.

I. Childhood and Adolescence

Dr. Winnie Mashaba attended Mashupje High School, but she dropped out after completing 11th grade in 1998 to pursue her interest in gospel music. After trying out for Solly Moholo, she finally got her big break. Her first album, Exodus 20, was released not long after the audition (2000).

At the 2010 Crown Gospel Awards, she won the award for Best Female Artist. Her 2017 career highlight was becoming a TV host on Dumisa.

She was awarded an honorary degree in music from Trinity International Bible University (TIBU) in November of this year.

Career

Mashaba&#ff7de8;s passion for music began during her time as a high school student. After deciding to take her first big step into the industry, she auditioned for Solly Moholo.

As a result of the tryout, she recorded and released her first album, Exodus 20, in the year 2000. Her album&#ff7de8;s positive reception catapulted her to stardom quickly. Exodus 20 was a solo album that sold over 25,000 copies and went gold.

Education

She was unable to continue her education past 11th grade, so in 1998 she began pursuing a career in music instead. Many years after her music career took off, she reportedly enrolled in a program for adults seeking a GED or similar credential.

Winnie has enjoyed a successful career as a musician. She has won several awards at various ceremonies throughout her career.

For the greater good, Mashaba wants to launch a charity in Limpopo. Winnie&#ff7de8;s plans for the group are to educate and inspire young people so that they can make their aspirations a reality. The youth of Limpopo will benefit greatly from the NGO&#ff7de8;s classes in music, drama, and dance, among other things.
